Aaron Eckhart talked to the press yesterday about his role in the upcoming Battle: Los Angeles, a film that pits marines against aliens on the streets of L.A. The actor described the movie as “Black Hawk Down meets Alien” and that cinematographer Lukas Ettlin would film it ”in a very documentary style.”
The cast members have been preparing for their roles by spending three weeks in boot camp. Eckhart promises, “It’s going to be no ordinary aliens movie, I guarantee you that. It’s going to be outrageous. This movie’s going to be so great. I go out on a limb in saying that.”
Production on Battle: Los Angeles begins today and the completed film is currently scheduled to be released in February 2011.
Warning: The Dark Knight Spoilers!!!
Eckhart played the iconic role of Harvey Dent/Two-Face in last year’s comic book adaptation, The Dark Knight. Despite fan speculation that Two-Face would be the main villain in the next sequel, the character appeared to have fallen to his death in the movie’s final scene. When asked about the possibility of Dent’s survival, Eckhart mused, “Well, I supposed there’s always the chance,” but clarified, “I don’t know anything. [Director] Chris [Nolan] hasn’t called me, so I’m going to seek other representation until further notice.”
There has been no official news yet on a Batman sequel and director Chris Nolan is currently working on his own science fiction project, Inception, which will be released next summer.
