Actress Amanda Tapping and executive producer Martin Wood recently revealed to Sci Fi Wire.Com that they’d be collaborating on a new Stargate: SG-1 movie, which may begin production by the end of this year.  Wood, who currently works with Tapping on the Syfy series Sanctuary, will direct the film after production wraps on the first season of Stargate: Universe.

When asked about a Stargate: Atlantis movie, Wood replied, “Atlantis is still being talked about for this year.  Right now, I’m so far removed from it, but they’ll let me know, and I’m happy to do it.”

Tapping appeared in both Stargate: SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis as Samantha Carter and currently stars on Sanctuary as Dr. Helen Magnus.

The first season of Sanctuary arrives on DVD next Tuesday, with the new season set to premiere on October 9th on Syfy.

Meanwhile, the new Stargate Universe will premiere on October 2nd.
