Devoted followers of Fox’s Fringe may have noticed a bald man in a suit, dubbed The Observer (Michael Cerveris), appear in the background of every episode last season.

Recently, the show’s executive producer, Roberto Orci, revealed to TV Guide that The Observer will not be alone this year.  ”You are going to see many Observers,” revealed Orci on the eighth episode of the second season.  ”You’re going to find out their role in the world, what they’re named after, and their connection to some of the characters.”

Fringe, created by J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci, will premiere its second season next Thursday, September 17th.
