Disneyland and Disneyworld are set to make over the beloved Star Wars ride, Star Tours.  This weekend at the D23 Convention, Disney Parks Chairman Jay Rasulo announced that Star Tours II will open as a 3D attraction in 2011.

Update: Sci Fi Wire got an exclusive interview with Brian Vaughn, chief creative executive for Disney Imagineering.  Vaughn explained that the new Star Tours would take us to different worlds, with the podrace on Tatooine as the first stop.  The article also reveals that the current Star Tours will close in October 2010.
