Rumor has it that Karl Urban (Star Trek) is up for the role of Judge Dredd in the reboot of the comic book adaptation.  Pete Travis will direct the film in 3D, with Alex Garland writing the script.  Judge Dredd was previously adapted into the 1995 film with Sylvester Stallone.

A common criticism of the 1995 adaptation was that Stallone spent most of the movie without wearing the Judge Dredd helmet, whereas in the comics, Dredd would never take his helmet off and his full face was unknown.  Reports indicate that Dredd, like the comics, will not take his helmet off in the movie and the script will stay more true to the source material.
